Sage Carr has been selected as the Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending on April 19, 2024. Sage currently has the most points for the boys’ track and field team this season with 142 and is 72 points away from the all-time career points record at West Branch. His season bests so far in the 400-meter dash came on March 28th at the Bellwood quad meet with a 52.7-second run and a 23.4-second time. He has yet to lose in this event specifically.

Sage also runs the 200-meter dash and has won this event at both the Philipsburg-Osceola and Juniata Valley meets. The other events he participates in are the 4×4 and 4×8 relays. Fellow senior teammate Drake Witherite is appreciative of what Sage does for the boys’ team. “In our relays, he is our last person and finishes the relays off strong. A lot of the time, we are so far ahead of the other teams that when the baton gets passed to Sage, he can just relax the rest of the way,” Drake stated.

Sage hopes to finish the regular season with great results and then continue to advance far in the playoffs again for his senior season.
