The Warriors gave their fans plenty to cheer about this week, securing two home game victories against ICC opponents. They kicked off the week with a commanding 3-0 win over Williamsburg on Tuesday, showcasing their dominance on the field. The Warriors cruised through the first two sets winning by double digits: 25-13 and then in the second by a score of 25-6 . The third set was much closer. Coach Terry Trude called a late timeout to settle his team, which proved effective as they regrouped to win the set 25-19, sealing the match victory. Makiya Mack and Hayley Woodling lead the Warriors on offense. Mack had 10 kills while Woodling tallied seven kills. Kyla Kephart accounted for half the team’s aces with eight.

On Thursday the Warriors were home again against a solid Juniata Valley team. The Warriors once again came out on top winning three sets to none. West Branch won all sets by double digits. The Warriors started strong, taking the first set 25-9. The second set was more competitive, with both teams trading points before the Warriors pulled away for a 25-15 win. In the third set, the Warriors cruised to victory, closing out the match with a dominant 25-7 final score. Lexie Mulhollem led the offense with 11 kills, while Mack contributed double digits as well with 10. Bella Koleno dominated at the service line with seven aces, and Brielle Bainey led the defense with 16 digs.

When asked how the team consistently maintains such a high level of performance, Mack responded by saying, “I think we play at such a high level all the time because we all push ourselves and each other to be the best we can on and off the court. This team is connected and we don’t let losses set us back, we just take them as learning experiences to get better.”

The Warriors have a record of 17-3-1 and hope to continue their success as the season moves forward.
