The 2024-2025 school year will be the first year that the Art Club is an active club and able to go on field trips due to different fundraising opportunities. Rachel Steffan explains the field trip that the art club will potentially be going on. Rachel Steffan is excited about the art club’s new activities. “We will use the funds raised at the holiday sale for a field trip to the Palmer Art Museum and Zoller Gallery on the Penn State main campus. This will provide students with the opportunity to experience professional and college student’s artwork.
Art club members have been hard at work making arts and crafts for the club’s first annual holiday fundraiser. The sale will take place during lunches Dec. 5-13 in the cafeteria.
The sale table will offer affordable handmade arts and crafts projects, such as jewelry, tote bags, worry stones, dream catchers, holiday ornaments, and a variety of gift items.
Some ideas of other projects being talked about are modernizing some of the murals around the school and possibly even going out into the community to paint or build projects. Rachel Steffan says she feels community projects will benefit the club’s experience and let the club be more well-known within the community. “It is important that we use our art skills to benefit the school and local community.” All of the profits that are made from this fundraiser will go directly towards the club. This will enable the club to be able to go on field trips together.
