The Lady Warrior Volleyball team put on a show in the first round of the District 6 playoffs. They defeated the Bishop McCort Lady Volleyball team in three sets. Despite being down in the first set, the Warriors turned their plan around and dominated. The scores were 25-18, 25-14, and 25-20.

Fan, Owen Koleno Koleno stated, “I was really impressed with how they responded after being down big. Bishop McCourt had some tall girls up front and it was evident after the first couple of serves we were in for one. Coach Trude settled them down and we took care of business the rest of the way.”

The Warriors not only won in three sets but also filled the stat sheets. Kyla Kephart set her teammates up like no one else. Kephart ended the game with 25 assists. Makiya Mack lead the Warriors with 10 kills. Not far off was Bella Koleno with 9 kills. Lexie Mulhollem had 6 kills. Brielle Bainey had 15 digs. She was unstoppable when it came to pass that night. To finish the stats, Haley Woodling had 9 digs and 1 kill.

Kyla Kephart acknowledged the challenges the Lady Warriors faced early. “We started off slow, but we came back with a huge lead and good serves. It shows how competitive our team is and how driven we are for this sport and that our heart is in it.”

The Warrior Lady Volleyball team improves to 36-3-2 overall. They host Bishop Carroll, who swept Juniata Valley, on Wednesday evening in the semifinals. This game is home, so make sure you come and support your Lady Warriors as they try to advance to the finals to win their third District 6 title.
