Each year, the West Branch School hosts the popular event See You at the Pole (SYATP). This event is brought together by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) and is an annual nationwide tradition in which many schools participate. The event’s success depends on the participants who make it happen each year.
With their presence and faith, faculty, staff, students, clergy, and community members gathered to pray for West Branch and other schools, helping make the world a better place.. Prayer is one of the most powerful tools Christians have. Prayer is considered one of the most powerful tools Christians have, and believers are called to pray as God desires a close relationship with both children and adults. Praying for the school and the community brings everyone together through faith.
The event was held on September 24th at 7:20 am. Dave Learish explained, “Over 35 people attended this morning. We had a good turnout to pray for students, all staff, and admin.” Participants lifted all schools nationwide, and our own school, West Branch. It is a blessing that students and community members have the opportunity to support their school and others across the United States. When more schools are inspired to pray for each other, there is no better way to unite the nation than through faith.
At this point in the world, prayer and faith are needed more than ever, especially during hard times and in the face of recent tragedies, such as the deaths of Charlie Kirk, founder of the student movement Turning Point USA, and Melissa Hortman, former Minnesota House Speaker, and her husband, which occurred as a result of political violence. These events highlight the importance of drawing closer to God, as people can act with violence and lack of shame. James 4:8 says, “Come closer to God and he will come closer to you.” This verse reminds believers that God is always present, and the closer individuals live by His word, the closer He will be to them.
Overall, the turnout at See You at the Pole at West Branch was excellent, with hopes that even more participants will join next year.
