Warrior Wrestling Returns 10 Letterman Winners

West Branch brings an experienced team back for the 25-26 season. 

The 25-26 wrestling season is just around the corner for the Warrior Wrestling team. The official first day of practice is this Friday, November 14th. The Team is hoping for a strong comeback season as they have a very experienced team coming back. Led by a group of 8 seniors, Drake Taylor, Bryce English, Reed Yingling, Carter Yingling, Gabby Bambarger, Zach Fenush, Payton McCloskey, and Jake Mann all hope to be the heart of the lineup for the Warriors. Wrestling is also looking to get a strong season out of the Juniors, Brayden Williamson, Jaykob Sample, and Frankie Leskovansky. As well as sophomore Julian Panebianco.

Expectations are also going to be set very high for the upcoming wrestlers, William Edwards, Carter Crain, and Aiden Evans. Senior Bryce English is looking forward to this season, “Well, I’m excited about this year because we have a really experienced team. It’s going to be awesome to see what we can accomplish together with all the knowledge and skills we have accumulated.”

The team is also returning a very experienced coaching staff, as head coach Jason Bainey returns for his 18th season. Bainey has established one of the best coaching records as he is 239-129. He is also 1 of the 5 active coaches in all of District 6 that have over 200 career wins. Coach Bainey’s right-hand man and assistant coach Davey Williamson is also super pumped for this season, stating, “Every season brings with it an excitement as the team begins workouts leading up to the competitions. Coach Bainey and I are blessed to have the opportunity to coach a team and continue to do what we love doing in the sport of wrestling. Excited to see the team set goals and chase them, and I hope they enjoy the journey along the way.”

The Warrior Wrestling team will open up their season on December 5th and 6th at the Inter-County conference championships.
