Athlete of the Week: Jaykob Sample

Jaykob Sample placed fourth at 160 pounds in the PIAA District 6 wrestling tournament.

Jaykob Sample has been selected as the Warrior Watch Athlete of the Week for the week ending Feb. 15, 2026. Sample recently competed in the PIAA District 6 tournament and placed fourth in the 160-pound weight class. He lost his final match but kept his season alive and advanced to the regional tournament. Sample’s current record is 32-11, which is a .744 winning percentage. This percentage is the second-highest on the team. Sample also has 15 pins this season, the most on the team.

Senior teammate Zach Fenush comments, “He’s really proving himself in and out of the wrestling room, with over 30 wins and regional bound, it really shows how hard he’s been working. It shows the dedication he shows to wrestling.”
