Sra B and students plan for an EducationFirst trip to Peru!
June 2020 can’t come soon enough for some excited students at West Branch. They, along with Spanish teacher Lori Bollinger, are planning to take part in an educational tour to Peru. The group will be traveling with EducationFirst, an organization that takes students all around the world. In 2017 students took a trip to Spain with this same organization.
The students will be flying to Lima, Peru to start a nine day adventure. Trip includes tours of famous historical sites from the colonial era, 17th century monasteries and mansions. The trip will also include visits to ancient sites from the Incas. They will tour salt ponds and learn to weave in the tradition of the Peruvians. They will be exploring local markets and crafts. Students will also be traveling to Machu Picchu, the fabled lost city of the Incas. This site is considered to be one of the new wonders of the world. Mrs. Bollinger called the experience a “once in a lifetime trip to see one of the new wonders of the world.” She also said that she is excited to bring this opportunity to the travelers.
Trip enrollment has just begun and will continue for short period. Those interested should see Mrs. Bollinger.
