Freshman Zack Dobo recently grew a 511.5 pound pumpkin. He has grown large pumpkins before but usually just carves them. He said that to grow large pumpkins he pinches off the other pumpkins so that one gets all the nutrients, therefore becoming massive. This year he participated in a contest sponsored by Pennsylvania Giant Pumpkin Growers Association. His pumpkin did not place, but he sold his pumpkin for $150.00. Congratulations, Zack!
