The 2019 West Branch Book Fair broke records, raising more money than any previous book fair. A wide selection of books and other items for all ages, two well-attended family nights, and a week of pretty good weather all helped to contribute to record-breaking sales.
According to Mr. White, “Combining the two family nights, we had approximately 250-275 families come and shop.” Mr. White reported 714 total sales for the week.
I asked Mrs. White how the $11,300 raised at this year’s fair will be used, and she told me that funds will be used for “Books for the library, and end of the year parties, the red carpet night.”
1st grader Jude Porter said that his favorite book at the book fair was “What If You Had T. rex Teeth!?”. Jude also reported that his favorite part of the book fair was getting free things with his Book Fair bucks. Mackenzie MacTavish, 5th grader said that her favorite books were the “Wings of Fire” books. Other students enjoyed the selection of other items such as journals, specialty pens, and more.
Whatever kinds of books you like, the West Branch Book Fair will always have something for you!
