On Friday, June 10th, 2020 Jason Brown earned the rank of Eagle Scout. This is the highest earnable rank in the BSA. The Eagle Scout rank has been around since 1911 and since then, only four percent of scouts have earned this honor. Anyone can earn this rank but there are many requirements that one must fulfill before reaching Eagle Scout.
Jason entered into the Boy Scouts ten years ago. He has been working to earn this rank for the last five years. To ascend to the highest rank, Jason had to move up through every single rank which includes Scout, Tener Foot, Second Class, First-Class, Star, Life, and Eagle. When asked how it felt to earn this, Jason stated “I felt relieved and sad, relieved because all the work I put into it paid off, but sad because I was finished with ranking, that was the last thing I could earn other than merit badges”
To finish the process he had to complete a project. Jason decided to help the community by building a deck at Martha’s Park in Lance. At Martha’s Park, the building is rented out to all types of people, with this deck addition it will give these people another emergency exit.
A big congratulations to Jason!
