Jenna Mertz has been selected as the Warrior Watch’s Female Athlete of the Week for the week of 01/31/21. Jenna is a freshman for the girls basketball team but doesn’t lack experience as she was a starter for the Jr. High team last year and has been playing since fifth grade. Jenna has been a very consistent contributor for the varsity team this season and is off to a very exciting varsity career. Head Coach Justin Koleno agreed that Jenna has been steady this season and said, “It is rare to get such consistency from a freshman. This was essentially the second week of the season, and Jenna is already showing improvement and increased confidence. It adds up to a good trajectory for the years to come.” Through the course of three games, Jenna was able to put up an impressive 37 points, although the Lady Warriors fell short in the games.

Justin Koleno continued to say, “I know she would have rather had the wins than the stats. We came up short in a couple of games that came down to a few possessions. That will only be more fuel for her fire. She is that type of player.”
