Doug Kolesar, also known as “The Gambler”, has been selected as the Male Senior Spotlight for the week of 2/8/21. Doug is a very talented and dedicated student and athlete at West Branch. He participates in cross country, basketball, and baseball. Doug has been playing basketball since third grade and has been a starter for the West Branch varsity boys basketball team since freshman year. Doug holds a record of nine 3-point shots in a game for basketball and he also assisted in the basketball team’s first ICC North championships last year. Doug has also played baseball for West Branch since he was in third grade. During his sophomore year, Doug’s major accomplishment in baseball is that he held a .350 batting average. Doug is also a veteran runner for the cross country team; his best time for the 5k run was a 20:44 in tenth grade at the ICC championships at Mt. Union High School. Douglas Kolesar is a very dedicated and hard-working athlete for his sports and academics in West Branch. He will be missed when he graduates on June 4th, 2021.
