Warriors come up short in a back and forth game against Mo-Valley.

The West Branch Warriors traveled to CNB bank stadium on week four of high school football to face the Moshannon Valley Knights. The Warriors struggled on offense, leaving them with no scoring points and causing the final score to be 21-0.

After the Warriors lost the coin toss, the Knights chose to defer in the second half. Right away on kickoff, Mo-Valley slipped past the Warriors and scored a touchdown, completing the extra point and changing the score quickly to 7-0. Both the Warriors and the Knights then had fumbles recovered by the opposing team. Tyler Biggans had a few nice passes to receivers Parker Johnson, Kyle Kolesar, Jackson Croyle, and Owen Graham. Followed by these passes were some incomplete passes and two interceptions.

Although the Warriors fell short on keeping up with the Knights, the defense still looked strong. On the ride home Coach Smeal quoted, “That was the best defense I’ve seen from you guys yet.” There were lots of good tackles from the Warriors on the field, as well as a few sacks in the backfield. Many passes were defended by the Warriors and multiple fumble recoveries were present. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough for the Warriors to hold the Knights, leaving Mo-Valley to score two more times and completing both their PAT’s.

Final score: MV 21- 0 WB. Join the Warriors in hopes to redeem themselves this Friday at Mount Union at 7!
