The Lady Warrior Softball team is three games into their 2022 season. The Warriors are returning with only two seniors, being Madison Nelson and Meghan Cantolina. The Warriors do return into this season with 8 letter winners. The letterwinners for the 2022 season include, Kamryn MacTavish, Kaitlyn McGonigal, Mallory Graham, Alaina Royer, Hannah Betts, Meghan Cantolina, Madison Nelson, and Greyson Gable.

The Warriors started off their season losing to the Glendale Vikings 13-5. West Branch had a different start to their game, with head coach Dan Betts getting hit in the face in pregame, resulting in his absence from the game for medical attention. The Lady Warriors were then shaken up by this experience and started off the game slow. Madison Nelson pitched the whole game for the Warriors.

The Lady Warriors then followed to play the Mount Union Lady Trojans. West Branch led the game 4-0 in the second inning of the game, but began to struggle in the third and took a hard loss of 10-5. Madison Nelson started the game pitching and Kamyrn MacTavish closed the game.

West Branch was able to bounce back after those two games, winning in a close game to Mo Valley. The Warriors were losing 10-1 to the Damsels, but were able to come back and beat them in the bottom of the 7th inning. The Lady Warriors picked up the pace later in the game. Makena Moore saved the game, not allowing a Damsel to score after being a relief pitcher in the seventh inning for Kamryn Mactavish. Makena Moore not only was dominant in the circle, but was also the game winning hit in the bottom of the seventh inning, hitting Kamryn MacTavish in. The Warriors had an outstanding comeback winning the game 13-12.

This week, the Warriors play all of their games away. On Monday, the Warriors play Claysburg Kimmel, on Tuesday Juniata Valley, and on Thursday Williamsburg. The Lady Warrior softball team so far has an overall record of 1-2.
