Jenna Mertz has been selected as the Warrior Watch’s Female Athlete of the Week for the week of 02/28/21. Jenna was vital in helping the Lady Warriors end their season with a win over Curwensville on Wednesday evening. She scored a career-high of 26 points and was able to come up with many steals throughout the game. Jenna was able to put up ten of those points in the third quarter and collected numerous assists to propel the Lady Warriors to a total of 55 points in the game. Head Coach Justin Koleno said, “Jenna had 26 points, nine steals, and six rebounds in our game against Curwensville. That is her season-high. She had her season-low against the same team our first game of the season. That fact alone shows how she has developed throughout the year. Every game her confidence grows. It is hard to teach speed and her motor doesn’t stop. That is a combination that causes her to be around the ball constantly, so she fills up the stat sheet. She averaged over 12 points per game this season. She will only get better, and that is something that makes the future look bright.”
