Seniors at West Branch were given the opportunity to visit a reality fair. The students were to fill out a Google form about what their career choice would be prior to the event. When getting on the bus to head to the Clearfield County Fairgrounds, the students were handed a paper that stated the career they chose, the annual salary they would make, and their monthly income. Once the seniors arrived at the fair, they were given a piece of paper that had what table they were supposed to start at. While our West Branch seniors were there, Philipsburg High School and Moshannon Valley High School had their seniors at the fair as well. The students were given 5 minutes at each table to calculate their monthly payments for each table. Abby Diviney says “The fair really showed me how much money I will end up spending each month on essentials.” At the end of the field trip, the students were to add up all of their monthly payments and subtract the total from their monthly income to see what spare money they had for the month.
