Many fun and festive activities are returning to West Branch for the 2023 Holiday season. The top activity is the 2023 reindeer games. There are many ways you can help your grade get points for a chance to compete in the reindeer games. Starting on Monday, December 11th, the reindeer games and food drive will begin. One of the ways to help your grade earn points for a chance to compete is to donate food to the food drive. The West Branch Student Government and the West Branch National Honor Society are partnering up to collect non-perishable food items to give to people in need through our very own West Branch community. Items to bring, in order by day include: cereal, peanut butter, jelly, any type of canned fruit, pasta, mac and cheese, oatmeal, canned meat, and pasta sauce. Mr. Carr will be collecting the items for seniors, Miss. McClelland will be collecting items for juniors, Mrs. Levonick will be collecting for sophomores, and Mrs. Brickley will be collecting for freshmen.
Also starting on the 11th, Miss. McClelland will be hiding 5 different holiday-themed tickets around the high school every day (upstairs and downstairs). Each day will have a different holiday theme. If you find one, please return the ticket to your class’s respective basket in the high school office. These tickets will be hidden until December 21st.
The last and final way you can earn points for a chance to get your grade in the 2023 reindeer games is to participate in the holiday-themed spirit week. On Monday, December 18th, the spirit week will start. On Monday, December 18th, wear your most festive hat and scarf. On Tuesday, December 19th, it is Winter Wonderland Day, wear blue, white, snowflakes, and lots of sparkles. On Wednesday, December 20th, it is PJ day, enjoy being comfy all day at school while in your best holiday PJs. Finally, on Thursday, December 21st, it is ugly sweater day. Wear the ugliest and funniest Christmas sweater.
On December 21st, Miss. McClelland will tally up the points each grade has earned over the two weeks and pick the top two grades to participate in the reindeer games. As of right now, the list of games for the assembly isn’t finalized, however, Miss. McCelland stated,” I have a few ideas that the student government has given me, but I will look into them more.” With that being said, make sure you dress up and bring non-perishable food items. This will not only help those in need, but it will also help your class get to have a chance to compete in the 2023 WB reindeer games.
