Weekend Fun for the Fall Season

While the weather feels like summer, fall fun begins this weekend. Looking for ideas for this upcoming fall season? There are plenty of local and not-so-local options. 

Alberts Airport is holding its 3rd Annual Fall Festival this Saturday, September 14th from 10 AM – 7 PM in Morrisdale. The family-friendly fall festival includes hay rides, vendors, music, fall flowers, and more excitement for families. Everyone is welcome to this fun event to kick off the fall season. 

Also this Saturday, Frailey’s Greenhouse & Garden Center is having its fall festival for the 2024 fall season.  It lasts from 9 AM – 5 PM and occurs at 528 Ginter Morann Highway, Smithmill, PA. This is a fun day for friends and family to gather. It features music, 75+ vendors/ food trucks, and games for the kids.

Looking to get out of town? Rooted Farmstead and Hello Social Co are hosting a fall market in Bellefonte this Saturday. It will occur on 138 Scott Avenue from 10 AM – 3 PM. This market offers free parking and admission, vendors, music, food, and flowers. From 10 am-12 pm, Donny Burns and The 3rd Degree Band will be playing live, and from 12-3 pm OK Otter will do the same.

Can’t make it to any of the fall fests this weekend? Check out Wasson Farm Fall Fest weekends starting September 28 and 29th.  The festival features a hayride to pick pumpkins straight from the field, a corn maze, farm animals, games, a barrel train, and plenty of food! The festival lasts from 10 AM – 5 PM and is located at  2545 Shingletown Rd, State College. 

If you are looking for a mini road trip, Hueters Greenhouses Annual Fall Fest is the perfect match! It is a two-day festival and brings 25+ handmade vendors, live music, food trucks, photo ops, kids activities, plant sales, and a bonfire with s’mores. It will occur on September 28th and 29th from 10 AM – 5 PM. The address is 3465 Deininger Rd, York, PA. It is free admission and carpooling is suggested for the parking space.

Senior, Sarah Guglielmi says, “People should go to fall festivals to get in the fall spirit. Festivals include various fun fall activities that can get you into the fall mood.” So gather up your friends, put on your flannels, and head out for fun this weekend.
