Happy prom season, Warriors! With prom approaching, a lot is going on, but don’t fret, here are some things you can have figured out before the big night to make your prom picture perfect. Having things figured out beforehand can make everything more enjoyable. The following are some tips and tricks to make prom a stress-free experience:
Getting your makeup done can be a hassle and pricey, so for those doing it themselves, here’s just the advice for you! Make sure you practice your prom makeup days in advance so that on the day of prom, you have nothing to worry about. If you are not used to doing more glam style makeup, YouTube offers many tutorials on soft glam, a full smoky eye, and everything in between. If you’re thinking about trying some new skincare the day of prom, DO NOT do it. Some products may react differently with your skin, and you never know if you could have a reaction to the product that you’re using. On top of that, when you’re doing makeup, you never know how the products may look underneath your makeup.
Spray tans and fake tans can be a gamble. If you or someone you know is planning to get a fake tan, make sure you test the product in advance. You never know how a product will react with your skin tone, leaving you looking orange or green, or splotchy!
Planning pictures around hair appointments, the promenade, and all of your friends can be super hard. But as long as you have a plan before the big day, everything should go smoothly. Here are some places, near and far, you can visit for pictures. If you’d like to travel far for pictures, State College offers the Penn State Arboretum, and Bellefonte offers Talleyrand Park. Both can be good options with beautiful scenery. If you want to stay local, Cold Stream in Philipsburg is a good option as well as the Philipsburg Elks Country Club.
Senior Madison Korb’s piece of advice is to “have deodorant in the car because you’ll need it, plan, get ready early, HAIRSPRAY, setting spray, double check all things if you’re getting ready somewhere besides your house.”
There are some tips and tricks to stay stress-free on the big day. If one or two things go wrong, don’t fret, everything will work out just fine. Just remember to get everything planned to make the day smoother.
