This year, prom will be on Saturday, May 10th. Promenade is at 6:30, and the dance starts at 7. The junior class has chosen “Glamour in the Garden” as this year’s theme. The prom committee, along with volunteer students from the junior class, will decorate everything to reflect this vision. To be in the prom committee, you had to sign up at the beginning of the year. Although the theme is garden-related, your outfit doesn’t have to match—it’s mainly just for the decorations.
Looking for the perfect prom outfit? Check out the Prom Closet, where you can find free prom dresses and formal attire! Visit Victory Church (2806 Allport Cutoff, Morrisdale, PA 16858) on March 22 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. to shop. If you have a gently used dress to donate, bring it along to help someone else shine on prom night!
Tickets for prom this year will be $30. To purchase them, visit Mrs. McClelland in room 207. She’ll be selling them throughout the month of April. Students in grades nine through 12, as well as alumni up to 20 years old, can attend. Non-West Branch students must complete a guest form, which you can also pick up from Mrs. McClelland.
One of the most memorable parts of prom is snapping photos with friends! If you’re looking for the perfect backdrop, the Arboretum at Penn State offers beautiful gardens and picturesque scenery. For a closer option, Coldstream Dam in Philipsburg provides a beautiful outdoor setting, while Trinity United Methodist Church in Clearfield features classic architecture for elegant photos.
Last year’s prom was a success, with about 150 attendees. The theme was Afterglow, and the decorations were beautiful—we hope to create the same magic this year. Mrs. McClelland says,
Best of luck to everyone attending. Make it a night to remember!
