As it was last year, the Warrior Marching Band is under the direction of Mr. Lance Jones and band front advisor Mrs. Melody Bell. The silk squad co-captains are Addison Yatchik and Madison McDowell. Majorette captain Gretchen Yatchik, head drum major Carrie Fuller, assistant drum major Kayleigh Smeal, teaching assistant Elijah Williams, and band president Skylar Moskal are all filling leadership roles within the marching band.

Amidst the current pandemic, the mighty Warrior Marching Band is ready to shine some light. The theme for this year’s band performance is “Here Comes the Sun.” This title is inspired by one of The Beatles famous songs. The show includes “Ascend” by Samuel Hazo, “House of the Rising Sun” by The Animals, and “Don’t Let the Sun Come Go On Me” by Elton John.

The 2020 show will open up with “Ascend.” It is then followed by “House of the Rising Sun” with the trumpet solo performed by Noah Fry. The show will close with “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down On Me.” This is not a show that anyone would want to miss, and many will get an opportunity to watch despite Covid 19 restrictions. The band will be live-streamed for home football games. Not only will they perform online, but also other opportunities to watch the performance will be available.

As the football team travels for their games, the band will stay behind and perform stand tunes and the half time show. They will be calling this “Review of the Band”. The cheerleaders are also invited to the event. They will show off their cheers and stunts that they have been working hard on for the past couple of months. This event is tentatively scheduled for October 16th and October 23rd. Keep an eye out for updates regarding times.
