Many movies were delayed last year because of the pandemic.

If you were disappointed last year because you weren’t able to go to the movie theater due to the Coronavirus pandemic, this year looks like a good year to head to one. There are a lot of good movies being released in 2021 that were delayed in 2020. I found a couple that may be good for a night out with your family.

The Walt Disney Animation Studios movie, Raya and the Last Dragon is set to be released in March. Raya is a lone warrior who is determined to track down the last dragon to restore peace to the land. During her journey to save the world, she realizes that she will not be able to accomplish her goal without trust and teamwork. Raya is the voice of Kelly Marie Tran who also starred in Star Wars Sequel Trilogy Films.

Luca, a Pixar film to hit theaters in June, is a movie about the celebration of friendship. The film features an unforgettable summer adventure between a young boy named Lucas and his newfound best friend. It turns out that Luca has a secret that may destroy their friendship. The film is directed by Enrico Casarosa who worked as a story artist on the movies, Cars, Ratatouille, and Up.

An American supernatural comedy-drama film, Ghostbusters Afterlife is set to also be released in June. The film is about two children and their single mother moving to a farm in Summerville, Oklahoma. The farm was inherited from their late grandfather. Here, they discover their secret connection to the original Ghostbusters.

The sequel to the spin-off prequel Minions, Minions: The Rise of Gru, is expected to come to theaters in early July. This is a computer-animated comedy film produced by Illumination and distributed by Universal Pictures. It is the untold story of a 12-year-old Felonious Gru, whose childhood dream is to become the world’s greatest supervillain. Gru learns that even villains need help from their friends when they are in a jam.

Some of these new releases may also be using streaming services so that you can view them at home. If you want to find out more about these movies or other movies being released this year, I find that IMDb.com is a good source.
