West Branch music department selects twelve people to represent our school at District 4 Band and Chorus, with two people representing both!

Recently, PMEA District 4 has gone through the selection process to choose its representatives for District Band and Chorus. District Band will be held at Curwensville High School on January 28th and 29th, with the virtual concert being held on the 29th. District 4 Chorus will be held at Glendale High School on February 3rd and 4th, with the virtual concert being held on the 4th.The District 4.

Both District Band and Chorus will have one virtual day as well as one in person day due to COVID-19, making this year unique from previous years. Representatives who place in the top chairs will be moving onto Region Band and/or Chorus. Region Band is being held at our very own West Branch on March 11th and 12th, 2022.

Many prestigious individuals were invited to be guest conductors for these festivals. For District Band, Dr. Tanya Mitchell-Spradlin, the director of the wind ensemble at Penn State, will be conducting. District Choir features Dr. Matthew Russell, an assistant professor of music education at Norfolk State University. For Region Band, Dr. William Stowman, a professor of music and the department chair at Messiah University, will be conducting.
