Thursday, January 4th, the Warriors traveled to Johnstown to take on the Yellow Jackets of Ferndale. The Warriors got off to a slow start only being up 6-3 through the first 3 minutes of the game. After that, WB seemed to get everything under control, finishing the quarter up with a score of 18-11. Once the second quarter kicked in, it was smooth sailing from that point on for the Warriors. Lukas Colton came up with a steal and threw it up the court to Isaac Tiracorda for a one-handed throwdown on the opposing team’s #2. Zach Mcgonigal had something to say about the play by Tiracorda, “I heard that Hollywood is producing a new movie since a new poster just got released in the Ferndale area.” The Warriors then went into halftime with a score of 46-20, thanks to a buzzer-beater 3 from Noah Emigh. Into the second half, every Warrior on the team saw the court and that didn’t change a thing. West Branch finished the third quarter, being up by 42 points. They continued to play in the fourth where Logan Kolp had a couple of big buckets. Easton Emigh also had a good night putting up 12 points. The Warriors finished the game with a 52-point margin winning with a score of 82-30.

Friday, January 5th, the Warriors took on the Trojans of Mount Union. They continued right where they left off with Ferndale, putting up 31 first-quarter points. The boys then went into the second quarter with a score of 31-19, in favor of the Warriors. After that, they continued to pour on the points, going into the half winning 51-33. In the third quarter, the Warriors kept their foot on the pedal, reaching 75 points with 8 minutes still left in the game, thanks to a bucket from senior Noah Emigh. The Warriors then went into the fourth with a score of 76-46. Just like the day before, every Warrior on the team got some playing time in the game against the Trojans and finished things out for a final score of 85-50.

The win over the Trojans now puts the Warriors at a record of 10-0 and they remain on top of the District 6 rankings. Next week, the Warriors take on Curwensville (away) on Monday the 8th, Brookville (away) on Wednesday the 10th, and then the Vikings of Glendale at home on Friday the 12th to round out the week.
