The 2026 Warrior baseball team started the season behind the 8-ball, as it was the first year under new head coach Justin Koleno. The Warriors finished the season above .500 with a record of 10-9.
Many Warriors had standout individual seasons this year. First, senior catcher Nick Parks finished the season with a .492 batting average along with 29 hits. Parks also earned an ICC All-Star nod.
Pitcher and infielder Caleb Hudson had a terrific season as well. The junior finished with a .419 batting average, 26 hits, seven doubles and three triples. Hudson was also named an ICC All-Star.
Junior outfielder Kaleb Warren-Kio was a sparkplug at the plate. Warren-Kio batted .390 with 23 hits, seven doubles and a grand slam in a victory over Tussey Mountain.
Finally, senior center fielder Coby Kephart joined prestigious company in the 100-run club. Kephart is also now the all-time leader in walks.
The Warriors opened the season with a win, then lost four straight. After starting the season 1-4, the Warriors went on to win nine of their next 14 games. Hudson stated, “The season was full of ups and downs. We started off the year with a big win then got into an early season slump, but overall the whole team continued to fight the whole year no matter what it looked like. Hitting led the way as we led all of District 6 in runs. The pitching was solid all year with people stepping up after losing basically all of our pitchers from last year and fielding was still the main issue but made improvements throughout the year.”
Although the Warriors fell short of the playoffs, the season they had was nothing short of remarkable. It is not often that a team finishes above .500 and misses the playoffs.
The Warriors will graduate six seniors: Dylan McGonigal, Nick Parks, Coby Kephart, Payton Kephart, Noah Gay and Deaondrea Horsey.
