The Lady Warriors lost to Bishop McCourt in penalty kicks in the District Championship game on Wednesday, October 31st. It was a rematch of last years District Championship and West Branch was out for vengeance scoring only 10 minutes into the first half. Once again Jen Adams was able to convert a penalty kick after Trinity Prestash was tripped up in the box. With the Lady Warriors up 1-0, they were able to hold off Bishop McCourt until under 10 minutes left in the first half. With the score tied 1-1 at half-time both teams went out strong with the Lady Warriors getting the majority of the possession and shots. The score was still tied after regulation forcing two 15-minute overtimes. When neither team was able to score in overtime the District 6 title would be decided in penalty kicks. West Branch keeper Sarah Betts came up with two key saves, but the Lady Warriors were still unable to match Bishop McCourt. The final score was 2-1.
The Lady Warriors ended their season with an impressive season record of 14-5-2.
