Emma Bucha has been selected for Warrior Watch’s Female Athlete of the Week ending on 9/30/23. Emma was exceptional in both her sports this week, football and soccer, being an integral part of both teams. Emma is a senior and is a placekicker for the Warrior Football team and a striker for the Lady Warrior Soccer team.

At the beginning of the week, Emma had two games to win for the soccer team. Emma scored three goals in two games last week. She scored one goal in the 5-0 win over Tussey Mountain and scored both of the goals in the 2-0 battle against Cambria Heights. Emma has the second-highest goals on the soccer team with 6 through the season so far.

Saturday, Emma’s uniform was looking a little different from earlier in the week. With the football team winning 43-14 over Curwensville, Emma had plenty of opportunities to put points on the board. Emma made six of her seven extra-point attempts during the game.

Senior teammate Tate Swatsworth comments on how Emma contributes to the team on the soccer pitch. “She sticks up for her teammates and doesn’t let people push her teammates around.”

Facts about Emma:

Grade: 12

Parents: Joannie and Jeffery Bucha

Sibling(s): Kaitlyn Bucha

Favorite Restaurant: Texas Roadhouse

Favorite Memory from Soccer: Winning a District VI Championship

Biggest Goal for the Season: Win Districts in football and soccer
