Male Athlete of the Week

Ayden Gutierrez has been selected as Warrior Watch’s Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending 1/5/2020. Ayden plays point guard and is one of the captains of the West Branch boy’s basketball team. He does a great job of keeping the team focused on the goals they have set for themselves as a team, which are to win the ICC, get a home playoff game, and make a run in the state tournament.

Ayden’s favorite position is point guard because he says it’s like being the quarterback of the basketball team. He gets to run the offense and be a floor general.

Sports He Plays: Football, Basketball, and Baseball

Future Plans: Attend Grove City College to play football and baseball and earn a communication studies degree in hopes of one day becoming a sports broadcaster.

My name is Mercedes Nearhood. I am a senior and  I participate in various activities including band, Warrior Watch, Envirothon, and student government. I am also the leader of the auditorium tech crew, president of the drama club, and the student school board representative. In my future, I would like to go to college, get a job in IT, and live in a house full of plants.
