Athletes of the Week : 4 x 800

The boys 4 x 800 relay team has been selected as Warrior Watch’s Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending on 5/20/22. The boys 4 x 800 relay team is sophomore Jacob Alexander, sophomore Sage Carr, junior Noah Ryder and junior John Stavola. These boys were named Inter – County Conference (ICC) champions. 

They also placed 2nd in the Altoona Mountain Lion Track and Field Classic. The boys set a new school record on Tuesday with a time of 8:31:68. With that time they broke the school record. The boys placed 3rd in Districts, which qualified them for states on Tuesday, May 17th. 

Head Coach, Adam Carr, said “ The boys 4×800 has had an awesome season. They went undefeated through the regular season. They were my 1st boys ICC relay allstars, and they are very close to breaking the school record. They are currently ranked 4th in the district and have a good shot at going to states.”

Grade : 11th

Parents : Bill and Courtney Ryder 

Siblings : Dylan, Addison and Gabby Ryder 

Future Plans : Air Force 

Favorite Food : Homeade Mac and Cheese 

Favorite Restaurant : Chic Fil A 

Pre – Meet Ritual : Fasting except for a very light breakfast and a lot of caffeine

Grade : 10th

Future Plans : Go to college for Marine Biology

Favorite Track Memory : Last year when Bradley Wood found a hib cab in an Arby’s parking lot and snuck it onto the bus
