The Mamma Mia! cast gathers in the rotunda after the April 2nd matinee show.

The headline is not an April fools’ joke. Due to the inclement weather on Saturday, April 1st, the drama club had to stop the show after the first act of the first show of the day. During one of the musical numbers, Dancing Queen, a power outage occurred, and the lights and music of the number just stopped. Without missing a beat, the cast continued the number acapella style, with the lights eventually coming back on.

Although the cast did not get to finish that performance or the one scheduled for that night, they did get to perform on Sunday, April 2nd. While there, some of the upperclassmen gave speeches thanking the staff that had helped with the show. Including practice pianist Cathy Larson, music director Jen Grenus, choreographer Allie Danko, assistant director Jack Danko, and director Dee Coudriet. They also recognized Raven Myers for being the only senior.

Since the performance on Saturday night was postponed, the administration granted an extension on the show. West Branch Performing Arts will be performing again on Tuesday, April 4th. The show will be at 7 p.m. in the auditorium. Hope to see you there!
