Male Athlete of the Week: John Stavola

John Stavola places consistently in his three events for track and field

John Stavola is Warrior Watch’s Male Athlete of the Week, ending on 04/22/2023. This season is John’s second year in track. He participates in three races: 4x800m, 800m, and 4x400m. He holds the school’s 4x800m and 4x400m records in his second year. At the first meet of the year, he placed first in the 4x800m and the 800. He got second in the 4x400m. John hopes to rank consistently at track meets and make it to districts and states. 

Teammate Noah Ryder says, “John is a determined athlete; he consistently outruns the competition throughout the season with new strategies and workout programs every day. John played a big role in our off season training with different types of workouts for specific running styles.”

Parents: Jessica Stavola 

Favorite food: Chipotle 

Future Plans: Run track for Lock Haven and study Computer Science 

Favorite Track and Field Memory: When Mr.Carr ate fishing bait 

Biggest goal for the season: To go sub 2 in the 800
