Female Athlete of the Week: Makena Moore

Makena Moore is a consistent pitcher for the Lady Warriors.

Makena Moore is the Warrior Watch Female Athlete of the Week, ending on 05/07/23. She is a sophomore pitcher for the Lady Warrior Softball team. Makena has recorded a 1.25 ERA and struck out 128 batters, which has helped her team reach their 14-3 record. She is a strong pitcher and does well at the plate. She has the second-highest batting average on her team with a .429 average and the highest on-base percentage with 0.562. Makena hopes to continue her fantastic season and help her team make it to districts. 

Teammate Brooke Bainey says, “Makena has helped us a lot both offensively and defensively. She is the type of player that you can always rely on, especially when she is on the mound.”

Favorite animal: Bunny 

Favorite softball memory: The bus ride home after we beat Mount Union

Her biggest goal of the season: Originally to surpass 100 strikeouts, but she passed that already, so now her goal is 150
