The Lady Warriors played the Glendale Lady Vikings on Tuesday, April 22. Earlier in the season, they beat Glendale in the season-opening game, 2–0. Both games were tough, but the Warriors pulled through to win. They scored four runs and held Glendale to one hit and no runs. Two runs were scored in the first inning and two more in the third. Makena Moore struck out a whopping 17 batters.
This win brings the Lady Warriors’ record up to 9–1. Haley Woodling had two hits, and freshman Bella Nelson recorded her first varsity hit.
Haley Woodling said, “It was a close game, which kept it interesting. Our team was hitting more than Glendale, and that’s what got us the win. They only had one hit, and we had multiple. Makena limited Glendale’s offense as they struck out a lot and couldn’t get anything going.”
The Warriors are now on an eight-game win streak. They go on to play at Claysburg on Thursday.
